Oud, Turkish, Ultra Pro, Hard Case SANDI. Oud, Turkish, Ultra Pro, with Hard Case 14 1/2 inches x 35 inches x 8 inches This Ultra Professional Turkish Oud is a refined beauty. This quality instrument was hand built by master luthier Saadettin Sandi and his son Bahadir Sandi. They have been making quality stringed instruments, under the SANDI trademark for over 3 decades. They use selected exotic, aged and kiln dried, hardwood such as Paduk, Mahogany, and Rosewood for the body, and ebony on the fingerboard and pegs. They use Sitka Spruce for the sound board. Inside is the Makers label with the date the oud was completed and the serial number. Bridge comes with a mustache and the peg box is trimmed. The body is constructed of alternating dark and light wood staves. Colors of actual product may vary. There are three rosette sound holes and no frets. Includes locking hard case and picks.

This oud is designed not to have finish or varnish on the top and applying a finish is not recommended. Scuffs and marks may be sanded off the top once or twice a year using an ultra-fine 400 grit sand paper. May sure to always sand with the grain of the wood. This light sanding is recommended with the strings removed.
The unfinished top will darken with oils from your hands over time and this adds to the look of the instrument. Most players prefer a darker worn-in often-played instrument over one kept pristine looking.

SPECIAL NOTE; No Warranty on Strings: Whether you purchase an instrument on-line or in a neighborhood store, manufacturers recommend that you change the strings on your instrument as soon as you receive it. Your instrument has completed a long journey to your home. During this time the strings WILL oxidize and this may shorten their life expectancy and may reduce their sound quality. On occasion instruments may arrive with a broken string, therefore, it is recommended that you purchase a replacement set of strings and consider changing your strings as soon as it arrives. Learning to change strings should be the first lesson learned when embarking on the journey of playing a new instrument.
